New Blockbuster Game Released by Playtech

International designer, developer and licensor of software for the online mobile and land-based gaming industries, Playtech Limited, has announced the release of a new game. This new game which is based on the popular television quiz series, Blockbusters, has been provided by Playtech to MeccaBingo.com which operates under its parent company, Rank Interactive.

Blockbusters Bingo has been made available by Playtech through its recently purchased Alderney-licensed gambling platform provider, Virtue Fusion Limited.

This new online bingo game is based on the Blockbusters program that was first screened in the UK in the 1980s and will therefore be familiar to many UK customers. The format of the game is similar to the Blockbusters show. Traditional bingo numbers have been replaced by twenty yellow hexagonal shapes containing letters in the Blockbuster Bingo game.

Angus Nisbet, Head of Gaming for Rank Interactive, the parent firm for MeccaBingo.com stated “‘Branded online bingo games are among the most popular on MeccaBingo.com and I am sure that Blockbusters Bingo will be another success.”

The new game not only offers its standard bingo game but also has exciting additional features. The Community Blockbusters Bingo Jackpot will be awarded if the first five numbers called contain the letters, B, I, N, G or O in any order whatsoever. A special Gold Run feature awards a prize to players left with only one letter when the final prize is won.

Chief Executive Officer for Virtue Fusion, Bob McCulloch stated that Virtue Fusion and MeccaBingo.com have shared a long standing relationship and after recently having created Britain’s Got Talent Bingo for the site they are thrilled to have been asked to provide this game as part of their exclusive agreement with Blockbusters.
