Online Bingo Industry Expanding

Despite the fact that the land based bingo industry is suffering due to the current recession, the online bingo industry in the UK is continuing to grow.
Mintel, a market research company did a survey recently and has revealed that a huge budget is allocated to online bingo advertising by a few top bingo operators in the UK. According to their survey, the top biggest spenders in online bingo advertising during 2008 were William Hill Bingo, Gala Bingo, Sun Bingo and Cashcade, a bingo software developer and provider. These four bingo operators spent a combined total of over 10 million pounds on advertising.
Sun Bingo was the biggest spender in the group with an amount of 3.2 million pounds allocated to its 2008 marketing budget. The amount proved to be well spent and it enabled Sun Bingo to break away from the Tombola platform and successfully re-launch itself on the Games by bingo software. At the moment it is running a bingo promotion and giving away 100 new Fiat Panda cars each day until September 27, 2009.
A Cashcade bingo site, Foxy Bingo, spent about 3 million pounds on advertising during 2008 and a few days ago launched a new free bingo site, Foxy Zero.
The third largest spender was Gala Bingo who spent 2.3 million pounds on advertising. It also spent 1.5 million pounds on preventing a few of their bingo clubs from closing down.
William Hill Bingo spent 1.6 million pounds which was the least spent of the four.
The remaining online bingo brands in the UK spent less than a million pounds each on marketing and advertising during 2008.
