Many poker players were taken by surprise last week when the Microgaming Poker Network suddenly announced that the Canadian based Kahnawake Gaming Commission regulatory authority had taken the 24 Poker site offline and had, in fact, suspended its gaming license on 24th November, 2011. Kahnawake took this action after receiving complaints with regard to 24 Poker’s lack of response to inquiries from the authorities as well as from players. The Kahnawake Gaming Commission has also issued a Show Cause Notice against 24 Poker giving the operator 30 days to respond.
Microgaming has, therefore, suspended the network on which its games were played and made a statement announcing that they had blocked all game play on the 24 Poker website due to the Kahnawake Gaming Commission’s suspension of 24 Poker’s gaming license. The statement went on to say that the Kahnawake Gaming Commission and Microgaming had unsuccessfully attempted to contact 24 Poker’s management team.
