£1.5 Million Progressive Jackpot Hit at Ladbrokes

Leading online casino software platform provider, Microgaming, has announced that the King Cashalot progressive jackpot paid out a massive £1.5 million to one lucky player at Ladbrokes, the British betting giant, recently.

The name of the lucky player or his plans for the cash win has not been announced but it has been revealed that after trying his luck on the five-reel, nine pay-line King Cashalot video slot game early last month, he managed to line up five King symbols on the ninth pay line with a maximum wager. This resulted in this lucky player hitting the jackpot and winning the whopping amount of £1.5 million.

There are thirty seven progressive jackpots linked together by the Microgaming network which the company claims is the largest online progressive jackpot currently offered on the internet. Over € 285 million in total has been paid out by the jackpot network to over 8,000 lucky winners so far who were all paid out in one full tranche.

Mike Hebden, Head of Ladbrokes, said that he was thrilled that yet another millionaire was created by the progressive jackpot network. He added that it is very exciting when this happens and that he is very proud that the player is paid in one single payment, rather than an annuity.

Ladbrokes still holds the record of the highest online jackpot win in history after one lucky player won a massive amount of € 6.37 m in a single payout in May, 2009.

King Cashalot’s jackpot has been reset giving players a chance to win a prize pool of just over $100,000 which continues to grow each time a game is played.
