Announcement of Warner Bros. Licensing Agreement with Microgaming

A multi-year licensing arrangement has been settled between Microgaming and Warner Bros. Digital Distribution for the use of material from the Lord of the Rings movies in the theme development of online video slot gaming software.

Microgaming, one of the leading names in online gaming software, with a particular expertise in online slot games, has made a deal with Warner Bros. for the rights to the use of material from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. This agreement will enable Microgaming to create online gaming software using characters, themes and ideas from the films The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

According to the agreement, Microgaming will have exclusive rights for the development of online video slot games with a Lord of the Rings theme.

The Lord of the Rings has proved to be an extremely popular and successful movie series and has created a large base of fans in different places around the globe. This trilogy boasts 17 Academy awards out of an impressive 30 nominations and is reported to have produced earnings of an approximate $3 billion from box offices around the world.

Enthusiastic fans will have to wait a while for the first Microgaming Lord of the Rings video slot to be released, but they will obviously be hoping that it will be worth the wait.
