Champions League Final

It’s a mouth watering prospect. Arguably the two best football teams in the world go head to head at the Olympic Stadium in Rome on tonight. Reigning English and European Champions Manchester United (13/8) hope to emulate the great Brian Clough’s Nottingham Forest and defend their crown.


The obstacle in their way is Pep Guardiola’s free scoring Barcelona (7/4). The catalan giants have brushed aside most teams they have played this season with relative ease. Messi, Eto’o and Henry all look set to start and with the trio having scored almost 100 goals between them this season United have a big task on their hands. The returning Rio Fedinand and Nemanja Vidic will certainly need to be on their toes.

However, with a heavy artillery of his own in Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez, Sir Alex Ferguson remains in confident mood. United have found the perfect blend of youth and experience and play a faster, more direct style than Barcelona. And if, as expected, Ronaldo is again deployed in a more central striking role his pace and trickery make him a good bet at 5/1 to be first goalscorer.
