eWalletXpress to leave US Market

US online gamblers had their opportunity to pay for online gambling narrowed down after the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) came into force during 2006. However, they were happy to discover that there were still a number of ePayment options available to them, one of them being eWalletXpress.
It therefore came as a great surprise to US online players when, at the beginning of November 2010, they found that when trying to access their eWalletXpress accounts, they were not online. eWalletXpress informed customers that they were having technical difficulties which would soon be sorted out.
Online gamblers were left wondering if eWalletXpress would be in a position to sort out the technical difficulties or if they were, perhaps, afraid that the federal government would bring charges against them and intended leaving the US market.
However, the reason why eWalletXpress has faded out at sites that usually serve the US online gambling market was revealed after eWalletXpress made a surprise announcement stating that they are no able to continue their service as a federal warrant was issued to seize their funds.
A warrant from the US government has evidently been issued against eWalletXpress and they have already started to seize funds. Further details are unclear but it is obvious that eWalletXpress is currently not an option for US players.
A few years ago Neteller left the US market permanently in order to avoid prosecution after having $55 million in funds seized. It was only after they agreed to pay a hefty fine that players were able to receive their funds. It is presumed that eWalletXpress will now also leave the US market.
