ICE – Online Gambling Exhibition Moves to ExCell

ICE, the top online gambling and gaming exhibition has been forced to find a new home due to the fact that the Earls Court Exhibition Centre is due to be demolished next year.

The online gambling and gaming exhibition will be held at Earls Court for the very last time in January 2012.

ICE organizers, Clarion Events, have signed a five-year agreement with another exhibition centre situated in London, the ExCel Exhibition Centre that is due to commence in 2013. ICE’S first exhibition at ExCel, London, has been scheduled to take place from February 5th to 7th 2013.

The ExCel Exhibition Centre is a 100-acre site located on the northern quay of the Royal Victoria Dock in London’ Docklands. The centre is close to Canary Wharf as well as to the London City Airport. After being built by Sir Robert McAlpine, the centre was first opened in November, 2000. The centre was then acquired by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company who spent £164m in expansions to the centre in May 2008 which resulted in event space being increased by 50%.

Julian Graves, Head of Clarion’s Gaming Division reported that they are thrilled with the new move to the ExCell centre as there has been a lot of new investment in the infrastructure and facilities. The fact that the centre is situated very close to the London City Airport should result in it appealing to an International online gambling and gaming audience and being easier than ever before to grow ICE.
