Mattel Launches Online Scrabble

Mattel Inc., creators of the classic board game, Scrabble, have joined together with King.com to release an online version of the game. The new internet version, to be known as Scrabble Zing, is considered a skill game and will be played between Scrabble fans from all over the world for great cash prizes.

Geoff Walker the Senior Vice President of Mattel Brands said about the latest innovative skill game release: “Teaming up with King.com through our agreement with Real Networks, and delivering one of the world’s best-selling board games to skill-game enthusiasts, allows us to reach even more Scrabble fans. Just as Scrabble has become a mainstay of word-game lovers, the version debuting on King.com will continue to tap the passions of longtime aficionados online while introducing it to a new generation of gamers.”

The new online Scrabble Zing will be the official skill game version of Scrabble, a game that has sold an incredible 150 million times over in 29 different languages.

The Chief Executive Officer of King.com, Riccardo Zaccoin said that the group was excited about providing the “definitive classic word game that, like our numerous other word games, challenges the creativity, knowledge and strategy of players.”

King.com is considered the world’s largest game community, incorporating millions of players who gather together to play and chat with other likeminded people from around the world. Games that are found on this site include Bejeweled2, Zuma and Pyramid Quest.
