New Sponsorship deal for FullTiltPoker.com

Audley Harrison, the current European heavyweight boxing champion, has signed a sponsorship deal with Full Tilt Poker in terms of which he will represent the fastest growing online poker site at some high profile online and live tournaments.

The Full Tilt Poker branding will be prominent on 38-year-old Harrison when he faces fellow Londoner David Haye at the M.E.N. Arena on November 13, 2010 for the World Boxing Association’s heavyweight title. The event promises to be one of the biggest all-British fights that the country has ever witnessed and Harrison is currently training in California ahead of the meeting.

Full Tilt Poker has revealed that the sponsorship deal arose after Harrison had a chance meeting with Matchroom Sport managing director Eddie Hearn at the World Series of Poker in 2009 when both entered the main event. The Olympic gold medalist agreed to enter Matchroom Sport’s Prizefighter heavyweights 111 tournament that was being held at London’s ExCeL in October of that year which he won before claiming the European title with a final round knockout of Michael Sprott.

Harrison revealed that he fell in love with poker while living in Las Vegas and learnt how to play the game from the professionals who live there. He has already had some good results and he and Eddie have been contemplating joining the right team for awhile and are certain that they have found the perfect partner in FullTiltPoker.com.

Hearn said that the partnership with Full Tilt Poker is an exciting one and he is certain that Audley will be a great ambassador for the brand.
