PlayNow.com Online Casino Launched Once Again

After the launch of PlayNow Casino, the first online casino in a Canadian regulated regime, by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) on July 15, 2010, it was necessary to shut down the casino within a day of opening due to a hacking attempt.

The British Columbia Lottery Corporation stated in a press conference that the security glitch which had given out the personal information of approximately 134 players, had now been detected and resolved and that the site had once again been activated.

The Chief Executive Officer of British Columbia Lottery Corporation, Michael Graydon, explained that the problem was due to a “series of unique events” that consisted of web site “performance issues”, a default setting in the new server software and a very high volume of traffic. He added that the 35 days that the site was closed has cost British Columbia Lottery Corporation approximately 5 million Canadian dollars but that he was sure that they would make up its losses when PlayNow online casino regained its customers’ confidence.

At the time of its closure PlayNow.com had approximately 140,000 customers most of whom, when given the option, had decided not to close their accounts and have their balance refunded to them.

PlayNow.com online casino was once again delayed by a few hours during its first attempt but has now once again been launched.

Despite British Columbia Lottery Corporation’s problem during the last month many Canadian provinces have confirmed their desire to get involved in state owned online gambling.

  1. Aussie casino says:

Whenever a casino relaunches the faces of the regular players become so happy that they knew no bounds. The Aussie casino is also the place where many of the players used to play regularly. I am also the person included in this, that is why the happiness i knew about it.
