The English Premier League is the most followed sports league on the planet, with a majority of the support falling outside of the UK. Portsmouth may not be the biggest UK football franchise, but its performances last year in the FA Cup and the League have given the club a huge cash injection.

There has been much criticism from other sporting bodies with regards to sports betting. The US-based NFL has continually argued the fact that most fans do not partake in online betting and thus, the inclusion of betting will offend the vast majority of sports fans.
