Apple iPad and Online Poker

Following the splash that the introduction of the Apple iPad has made among the media, one cannot help but wonder what possibilities this will bring for online poker.

This iPad that can be explained as a tablet computer was proudly shown to the press by Steve Jobs, Apple CEO. This iPad that was announced in late January is expected to be released in WiFi versions in March 2010 and WiFi + 3G models in April 2010. The iPad is due to be first sold at the approximate price of $308 or $499. It is believed that the iPad with its multi-touch screen will offer a range of benefits for the user.

Although based on a similar theory to the iPod, the iPad is expected to offer more features than a smart phone and is yet smaller than a lap top computer. The iPad will feature a handy 25cm color display, a virtual keyboard and a battery with usage for 10 hours. This device should enable the user access to e-mail, the viewing and sharing of pictures and web browsing. This means that the iPad could enable gamers to play at online poker sites that allow gaming within the browser rather than a download of software. This may bring about the creation and development of online games specifically for the multi-touch screen.

The future remains to be seen but it looks like there may be a possibility for a productive union between the iPad and online poker.
