New British Member of PokerStars Team Pro

The month of February has seen the addition of a new British member to the PokerStars Team Pro.

Julian Thew, who hails from Nottingham, England, has made a name for himself on the professional poker global scene in recent years. Previously sponsored by William Hill, Julian Thew, has now been welcomed aboard at PokerStars.

Thew’s most significant win was made in 2007 at the European Poker Tour (EPT) Baden Classic. Julian Thew came first in this event, winning an impressive €670,800. Following this win, Thew became the British player in the highest position on the EPT leader board and is presently in 13th place. During his career so far, Thew has achieved many cash finishes and has earned more than $2 million in prize money. He has been successful at different poker events, such as the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour and the Deep Stack Extravaganza.

Julian Thew becomes the fifth U.K. member of the PokerStars Team Pro, joining the other professional players, John Duthie, Vicky Coren, Jude Ainsworth and JP Kelly.

Regarding the new PokerStars sponsorship, Thew noted “I’m thrilled to have been offered a spot on Team PokerStars Pro and I look forward to promoting the brand on my travels throughout the year.”

The PokerStars online site boasts over 32 million members in different places around the globe. PokerStars hosts exciting online poker games, a variety of poker tournaments and live poker events.
