The Lotteries and Gaming Authority of Malta (LGA) which is one of the world’s principal gambling licensing bodies has issued over 335 licenses to about 250 operators since its inception. An amount of 5.6 million Euros was paid in gaming duties by the online gambling sector in 2008 and the amount increased to 19 million Euros in 2009.
